Skill Development Training
SUROVI has been imparting skill development training for the working children in the hazardous situation as well as disadvantaged youth groups. Due to the poor quality and inadequate relevance of education, there is a high drop-out rate at the secondary level, which causes a massive inflow of adolescents and young adults into the labour force without employable skills. Vocational Skill Training plays a vital role especially for the unemployed and unskilled people to manage a job for income generation of this poor section of the society.
The objective of the program is to reduce poverty and promote economic growth in Bangladesh by increasing wage and self-employment of graduates. The Program also aims to empower women through skills training and engaging them with economical activities and reduce dependency on others. It provides employable skills training so that graduates can be employed in domestic and overseas job markets. SUROVI conducts skill development training on different trades mentioned as Doll Making & Tailoring, Block-Boutique, Screen Print, Jori-chumki, Machine Embroidery, Hand Embroidery, Jute & Paper bag Making, House Wiring, Beauty parlor, Plumbing and Pipe Fittings, Animal Husbandry and Poultry, Radio, TV and Mobile Servicing, Refrigeration & AC repairing, Apiculture, Mushroom, Sericulture & Nursery, Fish Cultivation and Computer Literacy.
SUROVI offers 450 hours skill training for the participants. The skilled and competent Instructors facilitate the training with adequate demonstration classes. The training centers are well equipped and having easy access for the trainees. The trainings conduct 03 hours daily spread over six months. Course certificate is provided to the successful ones at the end of training that helps the graduates to manage a job. Employment promotion unit of the organization also provide support to the graduates for negotiating and facilitating technical support for job placement of the graduates.
